Gauri-Ganesha festival observed with pomp and gaiety

Women in traditional dress observed Gauri vrata  by offering baagina to their friends and neighbours and pooja to the idol of Gauri.

In the meantime, people installed Ganesha idols in their homes and worshipped Ganesha by offering special delicacies like chakli, kodubale, kadubu, modaka, holige and panchakajjaya.

Keralites in malnad region celebrated Onam, welcoming Bali Chakravarthi. They danced around the person in the costume of Bali and distributed the specially prepared payasam. Muslims began the month of Ramzan.

Totally, people belonging to all communities had one or other reason to celebrate.
Paura Ganeshotsava Samiti installed 6-foot tall Ganesha idol with religious rituals and organised cultural programmes. People from all sorts of life and communities offered pooja to Ganesha installed at Indiranagar Samudayabhavan and reflected religious harmony. Melionapete Vinayaka Vrinda commenced 19th years’ Chaturthi celebrations at Sri Chaudeshwari Temple.

Vidya Ganapathi Seva Samiti of Addada celebrated 49th years’ Chauthi, while Sri Navodaya Vidya Ganapathi Seva Samiti of Hariharapura Sringeri road celebrated 22nd years Chauthi. Sri Vighneshwara Yuvaka Sangha of Hirekodige Ganapathi Katte and Balagaru Sri Ishwara Kala Sangha also celebrated Ganesha festival.
