The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) will conduct theory examinations for nursing and paramedical students through online transmission of question papers to exam centres, Medical Education Minister S A Ramdas said on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference, Ramdas said the move will help in curbing examination malpractices.
The examinations for paramedical courses will be held from January 18 and for nursing from February 6. The question papers will be sent online about 45 minutes prior to the start of the examination.
Ramdas said the government has decided to extend the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) payscales to 400 teaching staff in Medical Education Department.
Names recommended
The government has recommended the names of Vijaya Kumar for appointment as director, Kidwai; Prithvi Raj as director, Government Dental College and Research Institute, Bangalore; and Vinay Kulkarni as director, Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli to their respective governing councils, Ramdas said.
