JOIN USFormer minister C H Vijayashankar exuded confidence that the BJP was being strengthened in phases in the district and would win the next elections and prove its power.
Participating in the meeting of BJP office-bearers of various units at Mysugar Kalyan Mantap here on Thursday, he said the party had created a record in securing votes in the previous elections.
He also predicted that the party would win more seats in the next polls in the district. Mandya is the home town of former chief minister Yeddyurappa and there is future for the party in the district. The party workers should strengthen the party from the grassroots level, he said.
Although JD(S) and Congress are the most favoured parties in the district, they have failed in developing the district. The party activists should explain this to the common man and take them into confidence and support BJP, he advised.
Office-bearers and members participated in a discussion later and shared their grievances with the former minister. District unit president H P Mahesh, leaders Nagarajappa, D Ramalingaiah, former MLA Maruti Rao Pawar, K C Nagaraju and others were present.
