Three JD(S) legislators who allegedly sold sites allotted to them by the Mandya Urban Development Authority (MUDA) for a huge profit, have now offered to surrender their sites.

C S Puttaraju (Melkote), M Srinivas (Mandya) and A B Ramesh Babu (Srirangapatna) have offered to surrender their sites. They have also urged MUDA commissioner to set aside the sale process, said T S Satyananda, who has approached the High Court accusing MUDA of allotting 107 sites in flagrant violation of rules. He was addressing a press meet here on Friday.

According to Satyananda, all the three legislators were allotted 50X80 ft sites in Vivekananda Layout for a price of Rs 5.80 lakh. Puttaraju and Ramesh Babu have sold the site for Rs eight lakh each to different persons while Srinivas has obtained a loan of Rs 10 lakh from State Bank of Mysore by offering the site as a security. The sites were allotted in December 2009 when Vidya Nagendra, a BJP member, was the MUDA chairperson.

Satyananda said the offer to surrender sites in view of the admission of the petition in the High Court amounts to admission of illegalities.
