In a special meet of the Town Panchayat chaired by President K U Umesh Shet at Town Hall here on Tuesday, member Mohammed Gous complained that the tractor driver asks money from citizens to collect waste. He further alleged that the tractor driver does not collect waste from the houses of those who refuse to pay him.

Another member Mable Terryson brought to panchayat’s notice that the waste disposal process was not done at Melinapete for the past 10 days. Similarly, member Susheela informed that cleanliness drive was not proper in Indiranagar. They complained that waste including plastic was scattered at many places.

Members said that the sweepers should not be deputed to supply water in the panchayat. Further discussing about the water shortage in the panchayat, members demanded that borewells should be dug at all important spots.

Talking about poor quality of asphaltation, Mohammed Gous suggested that instead of asphalting the road, concretisation should be undertaken as a permanent solution.
Former president Divakar demanded that compound wall should be constructed on all sides of the waste dumping yard at Addada to find solution to the inconveniences of nearby residents.

The meet resolved to make the payment to the contractor who undertook the construction work of shopping complex near bus stand only after the rectification of complaints in the work.

Panchayat Vice-President Vani Sathish, members Kishor Pejavar, Vanaja, Jayashri Navilekar and chief officer Raju were present.
