The water supply has been disrupted as the pipeline which carries water from Thunga river, which is 10 kilometers away from the town, was broken at Nagalapur.

Meanwhile, another water resource Hirekere, has been dried up to fecilitate the dredging work and panchayat is not in a position to arrange alternative facility for water supply.

According to panchayat member Divakar, the pipeline which passes beneath the main road in Nagalapura was installed about 40 years back.

Repair work was delayed due to the non-availability of cast iron pipes for replacement, Divakr added.

Meanwhile, the public toilet at the bus stand has been locked due to lack of water.
Water supply is expected to be reinstated completely by Thursday.
