3 nabbed for murder

Three persons including two truck drivers and a scrap dealer were arrested for killing a driver with an intention to rob him of his goods, police said on Sunday.

“Raj Kumar, 28, Ram Sanjeewan, 25, and Mukesh Kumar, 26, were arrested from west Delhi for murdering Mohammed Rayees, whose body was found from Mohan Garden area on December 22,” said Additional Commissioner of Police V Renganathan.

Police recoverd a muffler and Rs 20,000 cash. In addition, a truck, part of goods that was robbed and a deposit slip of State Bank of India, were also found.

Rayees was working as a driver at Bhola Transport Company, Keshopur Mandi. The police were able to zero in on the accused after scrutinising the call details of the dead  and other truck drivers, who used to park their trucks at Keshopur tempo stand.

“During interrogation, it was revealed that Raj Kumar was working as a driver with Bhola Transport two years ago. He  with Ram Sanjeevan and Raj Kumar  planned to kill Rayees and rob goods ,” the officer said.

The accused sold the robbed goods to Mukesh Kabari in Jawalapuri area for Rs 65, 000 and abandoned the truck near Mayapuri fly-over on the Ring road, police said.
