Role up for grabs

Last Updated 10 January 2012, 13:03 IST

Film-maker Priyadarshan is in a dilemma with two A-listers vying to be a part of his new project. Sources claim that Priyadarshan’s next film is about AIDS and will do for HIV what Taare Zameen Par (TZP) did for dyslexia.

‘Percept Pictures’, the film’s producers, believe that Aamir Khan would be apt for the role after a successful TZP and a pan-India success rate at the box office. But director Priyan has already discussed the role with his favourite Bollywood hero
Akshay Kumar.

Akshay, in turn, has loved the script and is more eager than ever to be a part of the project. But he won’t work with Percept as he had a fall-out with Percept’s head honcho Shailendra Singh over Nagesh Kukunoor’s Tasveerein.

Meanwhile, Percept is keen on doing the AIDS film with Aamir Khan, who has shown an interest in the film as well. Akshay, on the other hand, is not only willing to work immediately on the film but is also willing to produce it.
