Certificates at hobli centres from March

Last Updated 15 January 2012, 17:25 IST

As many as 43 certificates excluding caste and income certificates will be available at hobli centres from March this year.

Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda told reporters here on Sunday that the system was being introduced to prevent rural people coming to taluk centres solely for the purpose of obtaining certificates.

He said the district administrations had been asked to make preparations for the new system.

Gowda said the benefits of government schemes could reach the target population only if the taluk administration gears up. Deputy commissioners should visit all the taluks three days a week and chief executive officers of Zilla Panchayats should visit a taluk once a week.

The assistant commissioners should monitor the progress of development works by visiting rural areas three days a week, he said. The chief minister said the second instalment of funds under Suvarna Bhoomi would be released soon.

“Since there was delay in ascertaining the utilisation of first instalment of money, the release of second instalment too was delayed,” he added.
