Last Updated 17 January 2012, 12:37 IST

Six cricketers, including two players who played for the champions Giridih in the recently held inter-district under-19 tournament, were today suspended for two years by the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) for allegedly fudging their age.

"Six players have been suspended for giving false age certificate and their identity," tournament's sub-committee chairman Manoj Singh and convener Asim Kumar Singh said at a joint press conference here.

The JSCA has decided to monitor the future games strictly to prevent any such incidents in the game, they added.

"We have directed all the district cricket associations to find out genuineness of all players, who had participated in the January 1 to 15 tournament this year," they added.
