JOIN USLaxman Rawat shocked defending champion Lalrina Rentheli 4-1 in a semifinal league match of the National Junior snooker championship match here on Friday.
The Delhiite, barring losing the third frame, was in top form as he swatted aside his off-colour Mizoram opponent at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana.
Rawat took the opening frame 106-14 following breaks of 31 and 45.
He then held his nerve in a hard-fought second, securing it 69-61 for a 2-0 lead. Rentheli bounced back by winning the third 96-14 but Rawat quelled his challenge by winning the fourth and fifth 89-14, 68-29 respectively.
