A team of CBI officials from Andhra Pradesh continued their reassessment of articles seized during the arrest of former minister G Janardhana Reddy and Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) Managing Director B V Srinivasa Reddy, in Bellary on Sunday.

On Saturday, the team led by R M Khan and Lakshmi Reddy and other CBI officials of Hyderabad had assessed the articles kept at the Bellary Rural police station and Cowl Bazaar police stations.

On Sunday, it is said, the team verified the documents and assessed the value of vehicles seized during the arrest of Reddys. The seized vehicles have been kept under the strict vigil in both the stations. Former minister G Janardhana Reddy and Srinivasa Reddy, were arrested on September 5 last year on charges of illegal mining.

Search for Ali Khan

CBI Additional SP R M Khan speaking with mediapersons, said a manhunt has been launched to arrest Ali Khan, key aide of Janardhana Reddy in his mining activities.

“Ali Khan’s photographs have been pasted at airports, bus and railway stations. Police stations have also been alerted about him. Khan would be inviting trouble by evading arrest,” said the officer.

Investigations into the illegal mining case are on and supplementary charge sheet will be submitted into the court, he added.

According to police sources, the CBI team may visit Mauritius which figures in Reddys mining affairs.
