DTDC notch up thrilling win over Canara Bank

Mayank Agarwal dazzles with quickfire century

In high-scoring match, DTDC Sports Club eked out a thrilling three-run win over Canara Bank in the KSCA Group II, Division I Super League match.

Riding on Mayank Agarwal’s blistering 90-ball 138 (12x4, 8x6), DTDC stacked up 286 for four in 39 overs. S Vinodh was the other significant contributor with a 62-ball 76 (8x4, 1x6).

Bharath Chipli led a sprited chase by Canara with a 57-ball 97 which included 16 fours and three sixes, but the bankmen needed a bit more enterprise from other batsmen as they finished their innings at at 283 for seven.

In the match between Central Excise and Customs, Devraj Patil’s ton (105, 104b, 10x4, 1x6) for Excisemen was negated by a much more forceful knock of by State Bank of Mysore’s Aniruddha Joshi, who struck an identical 105 but consumed just 69 balls (15x4, 1x6). Chasing Excise’s total of 243 for seven, SBM replied with 245 for six in 34.1 overs.

Batting first, FCT, riding on Sagar’s 123-run knock and Manikantan’s half-century, managed to post a healthy 241 all out in 49.4 overs. FCC, in reply, found contributors in Mahesh (37) and Narasimharaju (42), but their efforts were far from enough as they were bundled out for 150 in 41.2 overs.
