Last Updated 03 February 2012, 19:10 IST

Less than 10 days after the State government transferred 55 IAS, IPS and IFS officers, nine more IAS officers, including senior IAS officer Yogendra Tripathy, were transferred on Friday.

Tripathy, who was managing director of Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd (KPCL), has now been posted as commissioner of the Bangalore Metropolitan Regional Development Authority. M R Kamble, currently the principal secretary of the Department of Agriculture, succeeds Tripathy as MD of KPCL.

BSY home turf

Shimoga, the home turf of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, has seen yet another change in the civil service posts.

Although junior officer K P Mohan Raj was appointed by Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda in the place of Deputy Commissioner B Ponnuraj, he did not assume office. As a result, M V Vedamurthy has been appointed new Deputy Commissioner of Shimoga. While it is rumoured that Raj was wary of working in Shimoga because of the associated ‘pressure’, speculations are also rife that Yeddyurappa has brought back ‘one of his men’ into Shimoga.

The other officers transferred are Dr Babu Rao Mudbi, Secretary, Agriculture Department; S Shankaranarayan, Deputy Commissioner, Bangalore Rural District; Dr K G Jagadeesha, Mission Director, Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Promotion Society KSRLPS; M V Savithri, Deputy Commissioner, Raichur and Panduranga Bommaiah Naik, Deputy Commissioner, Gadag.

Jagadeesha is also put in concurrent charge of the post of the Managing Director, Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation.
