The Delhi High Court on Friday sought the state Election Commission’s stand on a plea for quashing a notification that reserved seats for Scheduled Caste candidates in the upcoming MCD polls.
A division bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Rajiv Shakdher sought the Commission’s reply by February 15.
The bench directed the state EC not to issue the notification for holding the elections without the court's permission. The polls are likely to be held in April.
