Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has thanked the bureaucracy for giving her appreciable support since the last 13 years of her tenure.

Dikshit expressed these views on Thursday evening at a function organised to felicitate 23 DANICS officers who have been inducted into the Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre of the IAS.

Twenty three new Delhi Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli Civil Services (DANICS) probationers and one probationer from Puducherry Civil Services were also present on the occasion.

Dikshit said she was married to an Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer before becoming the Chief Minister of Delhi and has the first-hand experience of the life and experiences of a civil servant.

Satisfying experience

“Civil Services provides one of the most satisfying experience and great opportunity to serve the nation. In a compact city like Delhi, a civil servant has the opportunity of witnessing the results of the efforts put in by him,” Dikshit said.

While welcoming the officers, Delhi Chief Secretary P K Tripathi said it is a matter of honour and privilege for an officer to be a member of the civil services. Kuldeep Singh Gangar, General Secretary of DANICS Officers’ Association expressed gratitude to Delhi government for providing avenues for career progression of DANICS officers.
