Revenue secretary's car hit, errant driver arrested

A speeding lorry, hit a car in which Kolar district Revenue Secretary P N Srinivasachari was travelling, on National Highway 4 bypass near K Bhayyapalli Cross, in Mulbagal on Saturday. None have been injured in the accident.

Srinivasachari was on his way to attend a meeting in Kolar from his native Bairakuru in the taluk, when the accident occurred.

The speeding lorry hit the car and sped from the scene. The car has received dents. Srinivasachari, his personal assistant Ibrahim and driver Nagarah are safe.

Upon being alerted, Tahsildar P Jayamadhav chased the lorry and managed to stop the lorry in Pichaguntlahalli in the taluk. Tahsildar arrested the lorry driver. The errant lorry driver, who was in an inebriated condition bit the tahsildar jeep driver Subramani and  injured him.
Later, Tahsildar himself drove the lorry and handed it to over to Mulbagal police station. A case has been registered in this regard.
