Lakshmi elected Mudigere TP chief

Lakshmi Ramayya was the only candidate in the taluk panchayat. For the post of vice president, there was direct fight between BJP candidate Prabhakar and JD(S)-Congress candidate Sujatha. Prabhakar could fetch only 2 votes while Sujatha gained 11 votes and was elected as the Vice President.

Chikmagalur AC K Dayanand was the election officer. Taluk Panchayat EO M Manjunath, and others were present.

Later, speaking to the presspersons, the newly elected president assured to work towards the development of the taluk. She said she will tour various parts of the taluk to understand the problems faced by the people.
