Police said the commando, who had recently completed his training and awaiting posting in one of the Naxal-infested districts in the state, was on duty inside the training centre when he shot himself with a AK 47 rifle. Pradhan was from a small village in western Orissa . He reportedly left a suicide note expressing his regrets for joining the police force for which he was not fit. “I wanted to be a farmer. I am not fit for a police job,” the note said.
If sources are to be believed, the man was never interested in a police job, but had joined the force after matriculation following pressure from the family.
