Commuters having a bad experience with taxi drivers is pretty common in the city. In order to change the face of taxi service at Delhi airport, the Delhi International Airport Limited  has started a soft skills training programme named ‘DISHA’ for taxi drivers.

The programme aims at training more than 1,500 taxi drivers driving both normal and radio taxis.
“The programme focuses on sensitising taxi drivers about safety, security and cleanliness of taxis, following traffic rules,  apart from behavioural aspects like personal grooming,” said Shivani Mehta, in-charge of DISHA.

She added that the programme is conducted at T3 and domestic terminals. “The training is being imparted in phases through nukkad natak (street play) at T3 and the domestic terminals,” said Shivani.

At least 100 taxi drivers attended the training programme at the multi-level parking opposite T3 terminal on Monday.
