Three miscreants, including a Bangladeshi, were arrested here for killing their associate after they grew suspicious that the accomplice was acting as a spy for police, police said on Wednesday.

Tashlim, 35, Naim, 36, and the Bangladeshi national – Moti, 21, were arrested from Karawal Nagar following a tip-off on Tuesday, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (north-east ) B K Singh. They were involved in auto-lifting in the area. “Four stolen bikes and one country-made pistol along with two live cartridges were recovered from them,” said Singh.

During interrogation, they told police that they have killed Mukesh, a resident of Timarpur in north Delhi. Mukesh was known to Tashlim and Naim, as all of three were criminals. Mukesh remained involved in a case of Arms Act at Mukharjee Nagar police station. Last year, Naim was arrested in an auto-lifting case in Mukharjee Nagar. Naim was in suspicion over Mukesh behind his arrest.

After coming out of jail, he along with associates Tashlim and Moti planned to eliminate Mukesh.

On December 23 last year, they called Mukesh at Khajuri. They boarded a stolen Santro car and offered wine to Mukesh. When Mukesh got unconscious and they took him on Chandi Nagar Road at Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh and stabbed him to death. They then dumped his body on road and fled from the spot.
