Bar owner, manager held

A bar manager and owner were arrested from south Delhi for serving smuggled liquor to customers, excise officials said.  

 

“We got an input regarding the serving of smuggled liquor to the public in cars. We counstituted a team and with the help of local police conducted raids at an unlicensed bar at Hauz Khas in south Delhi,” said the official.

The raids were conducted at a restaurant, Double Decker, running without bar licence at South Extension II on the intervening night of February 6 and February 7.

“We seized 60 bottles of foreign liquor illegally procured from Haryana and 288 bottles of imported and Indian beer,” said the official.  A case was registered under Delhi Excise Act.
