Last Updated 09 February 2012, 20:00 IST

If you were thinking of bidding goodbye to woollens, then think again. The winters are not over yet.

Delhi experienced a cold day on Thursday compared to pleasant weather since several days. The Met Department has predicted similar weather conditions for the entire week. The maximum and minimum temperature stood at 19 and four degrees Celsius. The cold breeze added to the chill but the sky remained clear. The mercury has risen from seven degrees to three degrees since first week of February.

Misty morning“It will be misty in the morning and cold winds will prevail. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 20 and three degrees respectively,” said a Met Department official.

He added a bright sunny day would give relief to Delhiites. Humidity levels are likely to waver between a high of 78 and a low of 30 per cent.

According to Met Department, cold wave to severe cold wave conditions have been prevailing in parts of Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

“They are likely to continue for the next two days,” said an official. Wednesday's minimum temperature was recorded at 8.5 degrees while the maximum stood at 19.3 degrees, which is three notches below average.

The coldest day was recorded on February 9 in 2008, when the minimum temperature was recorded at six degrees Celsius.
