<p>The team comprised of Joint Secretary of Union Home Ministry Bhamathi, Rural Development Joint Director P Manoj Kumar, State Department of Highway Superintending Engineer C R Gangadhar, and Central Planning Commission Senior Research Officer R K Sharma. The team visited the rain affected areas of Siddhapur, Kollur, Haladi, Belave, Kundapur, Aroor, Puttur, Udyavar and Padukere and collected details from the residents.<br /><br />In Haladi, residents said that the region has witnessed artificial flood due to the Varahi dam. The team also collected details on Asraya houses affected due to rain and wind. <br />However, the team did not visit Maravanthe, Salpuda, Chikkalli, Hadavu and Badakare where paddy worth lakhs of rupees have been inundated due to artificial flood caused by the Konkan railway line. <br /><br />In the meantime, MLAs Haladi Srinivas Shetty and K Lakshminarayana were not aware of the team’s visit. Deputy Commissioner P Hemalatha, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Prasanna Kumar and others were present.</p>
