Former Prime Minister and JD(S) National President H D Devegowda Monday alleged Congress and  BJP are not fit to rule the Nation or the State.

He was speaking after inaugurating the district-level JD(S) party workers convention at district playground in Chikmagalur on Monday.
He said that nobody can bring down his strength and willingness to fight against the wrong. He called his strength as the God’s gift.  “We are undergoing pain everyday looking at the bad governance in the State. Our family has never broken any promises and no one in our family can ever break the promise till our last breath. Kumaraswamy had to face the allegation of accepting Rs 150 crore bribe soon after he came to the power. The people who alleged against him are now behind the bars,” he hinted at former minister Janardhana Reddy.

Further, he said that the economists are calculating the progress of the nation by calculating the per capita income, but no one has ever bothered to think about the situation of the farmers.

The number of farmer suicide cases has seen on rise, but no government has ever thought to provide relief to farmers.

The governments should understand that farmers are not beggars, he said.

JD(S) State President  H D Kumaraswamy said that the party has organised the Yatre not only to build the party but also to offer solutions to the problems of farmers and the poor rural population and to instil the courage to fight. He urged the people to vote for JD(S) and give the party an opportunity to govern the State for five years.

Accusing the BJP for not solving the problems of the farmers, he said the BJP has not shown any concern towards uplifting the areca farmers who have incurred loss due to yellow leaf disease.

“The farmers have been largely ignored over the last four years. Due to the poor economic policy of the government farmers are prone to trouble. If the JD(S) comes to power it would help the farmers by waiving off their loans,” he said.

Rally

‘Janavahini Yatre’ organised by the JD(S) stepped into Chikmagalur city on Monday and JD(S) State President and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy led the road show accompanied by the party workers.

The party workers staged a procession and a bike rally prior to the district level party workers’ convention organised at the district playground. The procession which started at the party office reached the district playground via Hanumanthappa Circle and M G Road. Hundreds of workers who were holding the party flag welcomed former prime minister and JD(S) leader H D Deve Gowda and H D Kumaraswamy by shouting slogans supporting them.

Party Working President P G R Scindhia, State leaders Abdul Ajim, Dr K Annadani, Shakil Nawaz, party District Unit President H H Devaraj and others were present.
