To create awareness among people about the Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizen Act 2011, the State government has envisaged a special campaign wherein public can suggest a name, create a logo and coin a slogan for the campaign.

The winning entries will get a cash prize of Rs 50,000 for the logo and Rs 30,000 each for the slogan and the campaign name.

The Act aims at time-bound delivery of government services; holding the public servants accountable for delay; monetary compensation to public; redress public grievances; apart from providing for several layers of appeal.

The pilot project will be launched on April 1 in Bidar, Chitradurga, Dharwad and Udupi districts. Around 151 different kinds of services being provided by 11 government departments like RDPR, Urban Development (BBMP), Revenue, Labour, Health, and Education have been identified for inclusion under the Act in its initial stages of implementation.

People may participate in the contest, sending their entries on plain paper with a bio-data. Entry forms may be sent to The Director, department of Information, No 17, Infantry Road, Bangalore – 560001 on or before March 10, 2012.
