AI forgets to pick luggage

Last Updated 14 February 2012, 19:57 IST

It appears that Air India’s first and only priority on its flight AI-607 flying from Mumbai to Bangalore, was solely its passengers.

For, the airline completely forgot the luggage of 80 passengers onboard.

The passengers, who saw their luggage pass through the conveyor belt at the Mumbai airport at 6.15 pm after they checked in, were surprised to find their luggage missing at the Bangalore airport on arrival at 7:30 pm.

Heated arguments ensued between the passengers and the officials.

“As my house keys were in the luggage, I had to halt at a guesthouse,” J P Rao, Public Relations Officer (PRO), Defence, Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) told the Deccan Herald.

“Where could I go at that hour? At least I had the luxury to accommodate myself at a guesthouse, but the plight of the other passengers was pitiable,” he rued.
