<p>It is an irony of sorts that B S Yeddyurappa was invited to attend an event at his home district of Shimoga by D V Sadananda Gowda. However, the chief minister’s invitation was met with a curt “first resign as CM and then meet me.”<br /><br /></p>.<p>Gowda is scheduled to participate in four programmes in Shimoga on Saturday. He is going to participate in two events of the Health department and distribute possession certificates to slum-dwellers. Gowda left for Shimoga by train on Friday night.<br /><br />Gowda, it is said, met Yeddyurappa in Bangalore and invited him to take part in the events with him. However, Yeddyurappa, who is upset with Gowda, is learnt to have declined the invitation.<br /><br />Yeddyurappa apparently told Gowda to first resign as chief minister and only then meet him. Gowda is said to have reiterated that he would resign if the party’s central leadership directed him to do so. <br /><br />The former chief minister has also told Housing Minister V Somanna not to participate in the house possession certificate distribution though it has been organised by his department.<br /><br />Yeddyurappa also met about 20 MLAs and asked them to keep off the party’s meetings scheduled on February 24 and 25.</p>
