The Delhi government on Tuesday roped in eminent social activists Mamta Shahai, ex- Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee and Suchi Sehgal, Deputy Director, Women and Child Development to assist P P Dhall, administrator of Arya Orphanage.

Another 15 officers from Social Welfare Department have also been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the welfare of children.

The decision was taken after a meeting chaired by Social Welfare Minister Kiran Walia at Delhi secretariat.

Dhall was appointed administrator of Arya Orphanage after allegations of sexual exploitation of several children surfaced leading to registration of cases and arrest of some staffers.
