<p>Two burglars, who hail from Raibareilly in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested while selling stolen silver idols and jewellery weighing around two kgs in the national capital, police said on Tuesday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Pankaj, 22 and Ganga Sagar, 24, were arrested from Chora village in Raibareilly on Sunday, said Chhaya Sharma, deputy commissioner of police (south).<br /><br />They were held on the police complaint of Viraj Bahl, a resident of Asola farmhouse.<br />He had a large collection of expensive silver items at his farmhouse. On November 6, all of them were found stolen. <br /><br />A case was registered at Fatehpur Beri.<br /><br />Similarly, Sonia Gupta, the owner of Plaza Electricity company reported that a silver candle stand and three idols were stolen from her farmhouse on January 21. <br /><br />She is a resident of Plaza farm and lodged a case at Fatehpur Beri in this regard. <br /><br />Same modus operandi<br /><br />During investigation, police found that the accused had adopted same modus operandi while entering the farmhouse and had stolen only silver articles.<br /><br />On Sunday, a team of Delhi Police on a tip-off traced the accused persons and conducted raids. The police caught Pankaj but his accomplice, Santosh, managed to escape from the spot. <br /><br />Pankaj told police that he was previously involved in more than seven cases of burglary. He revealed that they used to dispose off stolen silver items to a jeweller, Ganga Sagar. The jeweller was also arrest in connection with the case.</p>
