BBMP marks boundaries for Sankey Road widening

Last Updated 21 February 2012, 20:30 IST

Armed with the High Court’s assent, the Palike has begun marking the boundaries of the Stella Maris High School for widening Sankey Road.

The court had last year ruled that widening the road was for ‘public good’ and that public consultation had already been conducted by the BBMP.

However, three months on, the Palike officials claim the project has been stalled due to procedural delays. “As the certified copy of the court order has not been made available to us, we have been unable to commence work,” said a senior Palike official. The BBMP has been unable to have a public discussion on the felling of the remaining trees due to the unavailability of the certified court order copy.
