<p>The Election Commission has sent a notice to Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal for his comments on imposition of President’s rule in Uttar Pradesh, which the poll panel considers a violation of the model code of conduct.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Jaiswal, on Thursday, had said, “If Congress gets majority then it will form the government... In case we don’t get clear majority we sit in the opposition and I see no alternative but governor’s rule.”<br /><br />Acting on complaints by the BJP and the SP, the EC said: “The Commission is prima facie satisfied that Jaiswal by making the aforesaid uncalled for statement has threatened the voters of districts going to polls in phase 6 and 7 to either vote for his party or face imposition of President rule in UP, thus has violated the Model Code of Conduct.” Jaiswal has been asked to reply by February 27.<br /></p>
