Two cops suspended for misuse of power

 A day after a clash between police and lawyers at Karkardooma court in east Delhi broke our, the lawyers have withdrawn the call of strike.

Two constables, who have been found guilty of misusing their power, have been suspended.

A committee comprising Deputy Commissioner of Police (east) and senior advocates has been formed to examine allegations and counter allegations of both sides.

DCP (east) Prabhakar said, “A committee comprising advocate S K Ahluwalia and advocate Mukesh Bansal will examine the matter.”

Two constables Ankit and Manoj, who used ‘disproportionate force’ at Anand Vihar police station, have been suspended and a probe has been launched into the incident.
The MCD’s demolition work, helped by the police, in Inderpuri in east Delhi turned ugly on Thursday when a group of lawyers protested the MCD’s action.

It soon turned into a violent clash that resulted in injuries to eight policemen and 18 lawyers.
