The CBI has arrested two people for allegedly running fake government websites and cheating unemployed youths by promising them government jobs through these portals.

“The accused were running fake offices and websites in the names of government organizations like ‘‘NREGA”, said a senior official of country’s premiere investigation agency.
According to the CBI, the accused used to create websites with national emblem on it and invited applications from all over India for various government jobs. They would then ask the victims to deposit the ‘fee’ in a bank account.

The money would be later withdrawn through banks in Delhi. The accused would run a particular office/website for a period of three to four months only and a new name and address would be acquired thereafter. The majority of the victims are from Jharkhand and West Bengal.
