JOIN USA resident of Bangalore has gone missing from a hotel here, police said on Sunday.
According to police, Abdul Shameem, 63, and his family had checked into the Rana International hotel in the Hazaratganj area on Friday.
The family had come here to visit the famous Dewa Sharif shrine in neighbouring Barabanki. After visiting the Sufi saint’s shrine, the family returned to the hotel on Saturday evening. While Shameem stayed back in the hotel room, his wife and other relatives went out to eat.
When they came back, Shameem was missing. A search was undertaken but to no avail and finally the family lodged a complaint with the city police Sunday. A senior police official said that the missing person was not in “the best of mental and physical state” but are also exploring other angles as well.
