A day after the capital was shaken by reports of five rapes committed in different parts of the city, two more tales of abuse of girls emerged. Both victims are minors, aged 15 and 16.
One of them was allegedly gang raped by group of schoolboys, the second was repeatedly raped by her stepfather, police said on Tuesday.
The 16-year-old schoolgirl from Badarpur in south east Delhi was taken on a trip to Rishikesh in Uttarakhand by the boys, who allegedly raped her there.
Badarpur police registered a case after the government railway police at Rishikesh informed the victims's parents about the assault. All the accused are minors, studying in the same school in Badarpur.
“We are investigating into the matter as the parents have alleged rape,” said a senior police officer.
Raped for two yearsIn the other case, a 15-year-old faced repeated abuse by her 40-year-old stepfather at their house in New Ashok Nagar in east Delhi. She had been allegedly raped by him over the last two years.
The accused Yogesh, a driver, was arrested after the teenager confided in her mother. The mother then lodged a report with the local police.
The girl told police that her stepfather would wait for her mother to leave the house and then rape her. He also allegedly threatened to kill her and her brother if she told anyone about the abuse, she said,
Seven cases of rape have been reported in the city, committed since last Friday.On Monday, police reported rape cases over the past few days involving two minor girls, a second-year degree student, a mentally unstable woman and an army man's wife.
