The sixth generation ‘Sonata’ from the car maker Hyundai India will hit the Indian roads in the middle of March.

According to the information available from the company sources, the new Sonata will come in two basic variants: automatic and 6 speed manual transmission. New Sonata embraces Hyundai’s ‘Fluidic Sculpture’ philosophy with smooth, flowing lines, the same ‘Fluidic’ that has made the new Verna a big hit in the Indian market.

The car will come with a 2.4 litre GDI petrol engine producing maximum power of 201ps @ 6300 rpm and maximum torque of 25.5 kgm at 4250 rpm. The car will also have safety features like six airbags, rear parking sensors, anto-lock braking system, electronic stability program (ESP) etc and will boast of other features like 10-way adjustable driver seat, front and rear ventilated seats (using airflow from AC), stearing audio control, cruise control, padle shift, etc.

The car is expected to be priced upwards of Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).
