Smilu bags 4th rank in Comed-K PG entrance

Smilu Mohanlal has bagged the fourth rank in the Comed-K PG entrance exam. Residing temporarily in Mysore, Smilu had completed her MBBS from Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences, Bellary and had secured 70 per cent.

Having secured the fourth rank in her first attempt, Smilu said that she had expected a better rank in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET). Smilu mentioned that she had spent more time preparing for KCET where she has got the 44th rank. She was able to devote only one week for the COMED-K PG entrance exam.

Speaking to Deccan Herald over the phone, she said that she hoped to opt for MD in Paediatrics in either Mysore Medical College and Research Institute or Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli. She plans to pursue super-speciality in pediatric cardiology after completing her postgraduation. “If I get a college of my choice in KCET I would prefer to join there,” she said.

She is the daughter of Mohanlal, a manager at Bank of India, Chennai and Shobhana, a homemaker. She had earlier pursued her PU at MES College in Bangalore.
