The graduation ceremony and valedictory function of the SSLC and pre-university students of Goodwill Girls’ High School and Composite PU College was recently held on the institution premises.

The entire occasion was celebrated around the theme ‘Enrich’ — which was given with the need to promote social responsibility, and make each member of the graduation batch aware of the need to enrich themselves as well as society.

The students rose to the occasion and flocked to the venue dressed in their very best. Decked in bold pink and blue saris, they presented a pretty picture.

The atmosphere during the ceremony was a blend of happiness and sorrow; happiness because the students felt a sense of accomplishment, and sorrow because they were at a stage where they had to bid adieu to their alma mater.

The chief guest for the occasion was Reverend S Vasanth Kumar, a bishop with the Karnataka Central Diocese. He was impressed by the impeccable arrangements made, and congratulated the outgoing batch of students for all their successes.

He also shared some inspiring anecdotes with the students, parents and faculty who had gathered at the ceremony.

He advised the batch of students to honour and respect their parents, and laid special emphasis on the fact that their education would not stop here — rather, it was a continuous process and they would go on learning and absorbing throughout their lives.

A lighter touch was introduced to the ceremony with the lively tunes of the school choir, which presented a medley of wonderful music on the occasion. A candle-lighting ceremony was also held, and was indeed a sight to behold — the entire arena was illuminated by the many candles that the students were holding.
