State responsible for attack on media: H D Revanna

State Government is solely responsible for the incident of attack on media persons in Bangalore, alleged H D Revanna.

Addressing a press meet here on Monday,  former minister and MLA H D Revanna said, wondered why the Government which was aware of Janardhan Reddy’s arrival did not post more security, but instead allowed hundreds of cars into the court premises.

Reddy had requested the Government to provide him a special flight to reach Bangalore to attend the case.

But police department and intelligence department have taken no necessary measures to provide safety, despite receiving the information in advance. This shows their negligence and lack of responsibility.

Since the BJP has been in power, the state is in a turmoil for one or the other incidents, disturbing the peace. There has been breach of privilege inside the assembly and in many other issues of state. Judicial, legislative, administration and media have their own responsibility.

They must not be disturbed of their duty.  A breach of privilege is done with the media, by taking decision for not allowing them into the assembly. The Government needed media’s help to come into power, and now they are paying no respect, when their secrets are revealed.

Should media praise their illegal activities?, he questioned.

Action

“There is evidence against the culprits of the attack, but Government is not taking action. If the Government has some amount of respect towards society, the case should be handed over to the CBI for investigation.

Advocates also have been attacked in the incident by police. Any citizen who has done wrong must be punished,” he said.

Reacting to allegation that Ranganath who is arrested, belongs to JD(S), he said, “All I will say is that that let people irrespective of the party they belong to be punished if found guilty.”
