Technician murders two colleagues

According to the police, eight technicians (all residents of West Bengal) working for a pumphouse which is under construction by Kudcemp, were living together in an accommodation provided to them. Prahlad, one among them, woke up after hearing a scream around 4.30 am on Thursday, only to see that two of his colleagues lying in a pool of blood and Swafan Konai (48), one of his colleagues, approaching him (Prahlad) with a hammer in his hand.

He immediately raised an alarm following which all others woke up and ran to safety. However, Swafan managed to injure Prahlad. Soon afterwards, other workers at the site tied Swafan. The police later arrested him. The reason for the murders is yet to be ascertained.

Superintendent of Police Dr S Subramanyeshwara Rao and Circle Inspector Nanjunde Gowda visited the spot. A case has been registered at Bantwal rural police station.  

2 end life
A girl committed suicide in Surathkal on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Sowmya (18), a resident of Mysore. She committed suicide by hanging in a rented house where she was staying at Dodda Koppala in Surathkal village on Wednesday. Personal problem is said to be the reason for the extreme step.

Man falls to death
A certain Narayana Poojary (56), a resident of Banthadka Netlamudnoor village in Bantwal taluk, accidentally fell from a coconut tree while removing coconuts and died on the spot.

Police arrested two women on charges soliciting for prostitution at public place near Kankanady bus stand at Mangalore on Wednesday. They have been identified as Dildhar (37) and Jyothi (19), both residents of Mangalore. A case under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act has been registered in Mangalore Woman Police.
