JOIN USCBI has registered a case against 13 government officials, including a general manager of a Bharat Cooking Coal Limited (BCCL), for alleged irregularities worth over Rs 35 lakh in payments for electrical works.
The agency has booked the 13 public servants and another person under the sections related to criminal conspiracy, forgery, besides relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
Among those booked includes the General Manager, Kustore Area (Jharkhand) of BCCL.
"The allegations relate to criminal conspiracy between the public servants and the private company to cheat BCCL to the tune of approximately Rs 35.40 lakh in the allotment and payment for various repairs of electrical item including switch, over head lines etc. in Kustore area.
It is alleged that payments has been made for unexecuted or uncompleted works by using bogus documents and forged bills," CBI spokesperson Dharini Mishra said here.
She said searches were conducted at nearly 30 locations in Dharba, Chatra and other districts of Jharkhand and in West Bengal's Bankura district.
"Incriminating documents recovered are being scrutinised. One country made illegal revolver and a live cartridge was also recovered from the residence of the private accused person. This unlicensed weapon and cartridge have been handed over to the local police station for necessary legal action," the CBI spokesperson said.
