Raped 20-yr-old WB girl rescued from GB road

She was sold off by boyfriend in Agra

A 20-year-old girl from West Bengal, forced into sex trade, has been rescued from brothel number 57 in G B Road by Delhi Childline and Kamla Nagar Market police.

Childline had received information about the girl’s whereabouts last month and after regular monitoring, the rescue took place on Friday night.

A police team from West Bengal headed by S K Mukherjee, a team from Kamla Nagar Market police station headed by SHO Parmod Joshi, the girl’s brother and Varun Pathak from Childline led the rescue.

During counselling, the girl revealed that she ran away from her house with her boyfriend named Jamal. Jamal brought the victim to Howrah Station in Kolkata in a taxi and travelled to Agra where he raped her several times.

Later, Jamal sold the girl to someone in Kashmir Bazaar, Agra where she retaliated and denied to engage in sex work. But she was beaten up and further raped by other men. She tried to contact her family but could not and was forced to stay in Agra for almost seven months.

“After repeated attempts, she managed to get in touch with her family but was beaten up every day. She was trafficked from Agra to Delhi with the help of a woman named Sapna who is from Nepal. She was further sold to a brothel in G B Road.

“Fortunately, her family got in touch with our counterpart in Pergana and the local police who conveyed the message to us in Delhi,” said Varun Pathak, city co-ordinator of Childline.

Delhi police said no arrest has been done yet as the West Bengal police will take the case further. A First Information Report has been filed in a West Bengal police station.
Dumb man rapes minor.

A man has been arrested for raping a minor in Gokalpuri area of north-east Delhi, police said on Saturday.

The accused, a resident of Indira Vihar, is married and dumb. “The man was held over a statement by the victim. Her medical reports confirmed rape,” said B K Singh, additional deputy commissioner of police (north-east).

The five-year-old girl had left home to visit her uncle on Thursday morning.

Her parents became worried when she did not return till late night. They saw her walking with the accused on Friday morning but he fled from the spot. The girl then narrated the entire incident.


The family then approached police, who took the girl to GTB Hospital.

 The accused was immediately arrested and a case was registered over the matter.
