Amit Verma came up with a good all-round effort to power Jawans Cricket Club to a 251-run win over Freelancers Cricket Club in the Dell-KSCA YS Ramaswamy cricket tournament.
Riding on Verma’s century (101) and Rahul’s half-century (71), Jawans put on a mammoth 392 in the allotted 50 overs. Benedict Raj was the pick of the bowlers for Freelancers as he scalped three wickets.
In reply to the steep target, Freelancers were in all sorts of trouble from the start as Vinu Prasad N and Verma scalped four wickets apiece while CM Gautam bagged a couple to end Freelancers’ run chase with 141 runs on the board in 29 overs.
In another match, powered a century from Sadiq Kirmani, Friends Union Cricket Club scord a comfortable 97-run victory over Jawahar Sports Club (1).
