Congress leaders G Parameshwara and Siddaramaiah have been invited by AICC chief Sonia Gandhi to discuss candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Karnataka.
The leaders will leave for New Delhi on Friday.
The elections are being held for four seats. Insiders feel that the Congress can win one seat on its own and if the JD(S) supports them, the party can win another seat.
The leaders will discuss the possibility of getting JD(S) support. Congress leaders K Rehman Khan, C K Jaffer Sharieff, C M Ibrahim and B K Hariprasad are the aspirants for the ticket, it is learnt.
