Dowry death alleged

Police have identified the dead as Sudha, wife of Srinivasulu, a techie. The couple have two children. Police said Sudha’s family members claimed she was harassed for dowry and was pushed to death.

“During the marriage, the groom was given Rs five lakh and 20 gm gold. But he was insisting for more,” police quoted family members as saying.

Srinivasulu had reported to the police his wife’s ‘accidental fall’ resulting in death, while putting clothes for drying. However, Sudha’s brother lodged a complaint of dowry death against Srinivasulu. He has been sent to judicial custody.
