Creating awareness among public about the different schemes and help from the government and public sector undertakings are important to create more number of entrepreneurs, opined Corporation Bank Deputy General Manager Fareed Ahmed.

He was addressing the gathering after the inauguration of one-day State-level Vendor Development Programme organised by MSME Development Institute at industrial estate in Yeyyadi on Wednesday.

“There are many people who have the ability to become successful entrepreneurs. But lack of awareness and proper support is hindering such people to come forward,” he opined. “There are good opportunities for the entrepreneurs. The public sector undertakings like banks are giving financial aid for them. This should be utilised in a smarter way,” he added. Udupi District Industries Centre Joint Director S G Hegde said that government has launched different plans to help the entrepreneurs. “For women and backward class people, there are special schemes. Banks are giving loans at subsidised rates,” he said.

The inaugural function was followed by the presentations from various public undertakings like ONGC-MRPL, BHEL, HAL, Corporation Bank etc.
