JOIN USIn yet another case of rash driving, a suspected drunken driver has left National Award winner for SFX in film “Ra.One,” Charu Khandal battling for life after an autorickshaw in which she was travelling was smashed by a speeding car in suburban Oshiwara in Mumbai.
Khandal is reportedly in a critical condition.The accident occurred in the wee hours of Sunday when the 28-year-old Khandal, her sister Ritu and friend Vikrant Goyal were returning home after attending a party held to celebrate the winning of the award.
The accident caused a furore in the city after the news broke out, but police, instead of subjecting the Honda City driver Manoj Gautam to stringent alcohol determination tests, was registered for rash and negligent driving. Gautam was subsequently granted bail.
Senior police inspector of Oshiwara police station refused to speak on the issue or even provide any details of the mishap.
