Banker accused of misusing 62L

In a case of fence eating the crop, a chief manager of a bank is accused of gobbling up customers’ deposit to the tune of Rs 62 lakh.

The incident that came to light recently, has occurred at the State Bank of India, Chamundipuram branch in the city. 

A V Kulkarni, the chief manager of the branch during 2009-11, had allegedly withdrawn the said amount.  He was subsequently suspended from the service and was replaced by Harish Rao. In his complaint to K R police, the incumbent chief manager has stated that the depositors have been repaid. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
