<p>The students of BCom and BA at Surana College celebrated their annual fest Parva recently. It was a cultural extravaganza of sorts as loud cheers spread across the campus. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The students had only one agenda in mind — to let their hair down and enjoy. The stage was set and once the toppers of each class received their trophies and certificates from their principal, there was no looking back!<br /><br />The two anchors for the evening, Pranav and Surabhi, began introducing each of the acts in the form of a skit. <br /><br />While Pranav played a rural boy who is eager to see the various facets of city culture, Surabhi, playing a city-bred, ensured every wish of Pranab’s would be fulfilled in Surana itself. The evening began with a semi-classical dance by Nutan and Swati and was followed by a western group dance by Dimple and group. “Through this piece, we wanted to showcase some freestyle street dance. So we included some b-boying steps as well,” said Dimple. <br /><br />Staying in tune with the Kannada culture, a section of students presented a traditional folk dance called Kamsale which included challenging balancing acts that the group pulled off with elan.<br /><br />As fashion is a big part of most college fests, Surana’s fest had not one but two fashion shows. <br />The first one was done by the students of fashion technology, who presented beautiful anarkalis, dresses and gowns. <br /><br />A teacher, who was in the audience, clapped enthusiastically as students walked the ramp. She then proudly told everyone sitting nearby that the students themselves had designed the clothes for the show.<br /><br />The next show was also equally impressive and presented by the students of BCom. Manjunath, a student, entertained the audience with his ‘Mandy Rap’ while Gaurav’s dance team had everyone grooving to Taal Se Taal and Chammak Chalo. Niranjan’s team tickled everyone’s funny bone during mad-ads. <br /><br />“This is one fest where we not only get to enjoy without any worry but also get a <br />platform to showcase our hidden talent,” said Pranav, a student. <br /><br /></p>
